  • Scenic, well-equipped park in the Yorkshire Dales National Park
  • Spa, heated pool, gym, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi on site
  • Coffee lounge and restaurant serving homemade food
You'll want a long, long stay at Long Ashes Park… This spectacular and well-equipped site is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where there are weeks' worth of hiking and cycling (including trails directly from the pitch). It also comes with an excellent range of leisure and foodie facilities to keep guests entertained and fuelled for exploring. Set in green countryside a couple of miles away from the North Yorkshire village of Grassington, the site is nicely placed for guests to be as active as they like. Scramble up one – or all – of the Three Peaks, tackle the Dales Way alongside the river Wharf or stride along to local villages like Thorpe and Hebden. If you're a keen cyclist, you could also take to two wheels along the 130-mile Yorkshire Dales Cycleway. Those who prefer to spend the holiday in a more leisurely manner can buy a spa day, facial or body therapy sessions at the Long Ashes Spa or linger for hours in the leisure club's heated pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi (there's an extra charge for this). Handily, there's also a gym at the leisure club. The on-site Gamekeeper's Inn serves homemade lunch or dinner dishes and also hosts speciality nights such as fish Friday and Sunday lunch. If you'd prefer a light bite, the coffee lounge serves sandwiches, baked potatoes and other snacks alongside tea, coffee, soft drinks and wine. The facilities at Long Ashes Park include family bathrooms, each with a large shower, a toilet and a wash basin.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Good reception area with a cafe.
Shower block on camping field was brilliant.

Disliked The pub on site, charged extortionate prices for the food, the camping field had no electric hook up and you weren't allowed vehicles on the field, so all the camping equipment had to be transferred 2 to 3 hundred meters from the car park to the tent pitch in a metal trolley which the park provides. I was not happy!!!.

Lovely facilities and a great site with nice pub/restaurant/playground…

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Camp spot was lovely and scenic,
Food at the restaurant on site was lovely.
Staff were all Friendly

Disliked I wish there was a family area for camping and a couples/quiet zone.

I was woken up both morning of our stay to noicy children shouting at 6am. One family
In particular creating soooo much noice constantly and never had control of there children as they ran around our tent and played ball games near to our fire pit/bbq.
It did annoy us after a few hours but went on for the whole weekend. Kids screaming and running around us. We wanted peaceful weekend away it just wasn’t that .

Second point was the pool was absolutely freezing! I enjoyed the jacuzzi but pool
Let it down considering We paid £40 For a heated indoor pool which had no heat at all. (24th may)

Local attractions

Travel two miles to Grassington for a day around its tearooms and shops, then drop into the Grassington National Park Centre for info on what to see and do nearby. Walks leave right from the centre or from the village, including a waterside wander by the River Wharfe to Linton Falls, hikes over Grassington Moors, or a potter around the Grassington Riverside & Woods trail (pick up a leaflet for this at the centre). Grassington is also on the Dales Way, the 80-mile route from Ilkley in West Yorkshire to Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria: hardy types can tackle the 13 miles from Grassington to Yockenthwaite, or hike in the other direction on the 16-mile stretch to Ilkley. For cycling, take the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway from Grassington to Ilkley and from there to Bolton Abbey. If you'd much (much) prefer sightseeing and shopping days instead, the market town of Skipton is within 15 minutes' drive and Harrogate is within 50.
